Best of the old and the new…
Terrific stay in this gorgeous Inn. Modern conveniences in a historic setting right in the heart of Southern Pines. My daughter calls the beds the best ever, quoting “its like sleeping in a cloud of happiness!”. Staff couldn’t be more hospitable either. This was not our first visit, and will not be our last…

I loved this inn! It’s location is perfect. You are within walking distance of so much! My room was clean, fresh smelling and the bed was very comfortable. Lots of pillows! The rain shower bathroom was clean and the towels smelled fresh (I’ve never had that happen). Carmen was a delight, breakfast was perfect and the coffee was great! I would stay here again.Traveled solo
Lovely Stay Memorial Day Weekend
After years of staying at chain hotels it was wonderful to stay at this beautifully run Inn sans kiddo. We booked a trip last minute and Carmen went out of her way to make sure we were able to stay in a room that wasn’t directly above the patio that has live music at night. We were even upgraded to a suite. It was not an inexpensive stay but well worth the money. Southern Pines is a cute little town and we will be back!
Quaint & Cozy
Lovely visit! Got the couples package and received a dozen gorgeous roses and a chilled bottle of champagne upon check in. Hotel staff was very accommodating. Definitely a place to spend a quiet evening get away.
“Charming historic hotel”
We only stayed one night but wish we could’ve stayed longer! We were upgraded to a suite and the room was beautiful. Two enormous queen sized beds which were extremely comfortable. I had the best night’s sleep in ages. There was complimentary water with powdered flavours to add in the room and a lovely welcome note from the manager. An iPod docking station meant we could listen to our music in the room and the bathroom had the biggest walk in shower I’ve seen! Breakfast was a continental style meal served in the bar area. The reception staff were very friendly and we’ll definitely be going back!Andre W, Traveled as a couple
“Great location, excellent staff, huge rooms and comfy beds.”
Great location, excellent staff, huge rooms and comfy beds. We were just passing through and picked this Inn based on trip advisor reviews. We were not disappointed. The location allows for you to walk to any of the local bars or restaurants. We went to the E-Talia pizza which was about 2 blocks away and it was delicious. The lady at the front desk was very helpful and even gave us a free upgrade to a deluxe room which was huge. We stayed on a Sunday night so the Inn was pretty empty so there was not any outside noise to disturb us. Our only noise came from a street sweeper cleaning around 5AM but that was it. I would surely stay here again.Stayed July 2015
We love to stay at this place for Stoneybrook! Beautiful hotel, great atmosphere in a quaint town. All staff are very helpful. There is plenty to do and EAT within walking distance. We will be back for sure.Stayed April 2015
One of the friendliest hotels I have ever stayed at! Curtis and his staff are in the business of customer service and are absolute professionals at it! An absolute pleasure to stay there and to experience the hospitality of this incredible staff and hotel!!!!!Stayed April 2015
My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay at the Jefferson Inn. The room was beautiful and the staff went out of their way to make us feel right at home. The attention to detail and the convenient location are just a few of the reasons why we will definitely be back!Stayed December 2014
We loved staying here. Visited with my boyfriend and a couple of my girlfriends. We had a King room and the girls had a two bed room. The king had a gigantic bathroom with a claw foot tub and pedestal sinks. The step up and down in the bathroom was a little tricky if you weren’t careful. Spacious rooms. Comfortable bedding. The bar in the lobby gets busy on Saturday nights. It was fun even though we are a little older than the crowd there. We’re 40s. The crowd was more 20s. But it was a great time.Stayed January 2015
Amazing Bed and Breakfast – A Must Do!
We read about the Jefferson Inn in a recent issue of Our State. At the time I read the article, I thought it would be a fun place to visit. Recently, we had a free weekend during a visit to the Greensboro area and decided to take a short weekend overnight to Southern Pines/Pinehurst. We are so glad we made this impromptu visit!
The Inn is simply lovely: the rooms are beautifully restored and furnished, the bedding and linens are high end, and the bathroom was spa quality with a rain shower head in the shower. The staff were so helpful and knowledgeable and gave us great suggestions for sites, shopping, and dining.
The Jefferson is also a center of the town’s nightlife with bands that play in the courtyard/patio (weather permitting) or in the Inn’s pub (as a backup). It was fun to meet folks and people watch as we sat in rockers on the welcoming front porch after dinner.
The coup de grace was meeting the owner (who had written a gracious, welcoming note that was waiting in our room when we checked in) the morning we checked out. His restoration work of the Inn is inspiring and has enhanced the Southern Pines community.
Our stay was fabulous and I would recommend the Jefferson without any qualifiers!!! A Must Do.
We stayed in room 15 for our wedding night and it was perfect! We had family travel from another state so it was nice to hang out at the bar as our after party and listen to the live music. Wonderful and fun atmosphere! Pleasant staff. Cozy and quaint. The bed was super comfy!!! The shower is huge and everything was clean. It was just perfect.

Great Memorial Day Getaway
We have stayed at The Jefferson Inn before but never in the summer. Carmen at the front desk is so friendly and helpful, as are the other staff members. Our room was bright and sunny and the cleaning staff kept it fresh and tidy. The music in the courtyard was great, but it didn’t disturb us in our room. The town is just charming! We walked everywhere and enjoyed top notch food at several restaurants. We’ll definitely be back!Traveled as a Couple
Spacious, Attentive Staff
The room was very spacious and updated. The king bed was very comfortable with lovely duvet and soft pillows. There was a hand written card with a note welcoming us. Bottled water and robes in the room. Good quality soap, shampoo, etc. Absolutely loved the music in the evening out in the back court yard. Tony Barnes performed. Staff recommendation for area restaurants was on point. Everything you need is within walking distance. We were given an upgraded room, without having to ask.
The Epitome of Southern Charm and Hospitality
So enjoyed our girlfriend’s weekend at the Jefferson Inn. The most hospitable team of Carmen, Mary Lou and Patrick made every minute of our stay delightful. The inn looked and smelled clean and the housekeeper was friendly and efficient. Whether it was ice, an extra towel or recommendations for dinner, it was all accommodated quickly. The room was spacious and we loved the small touches of bottled water, full bars of soap, and plush linen. The evening scene was fun and a delightful mix of young and old. We spent several hours just rocking on the front patio in complete bliss. Loved the shopping and local food was delicious. Can’t wait to return to this incredible inn.
A Gem in the Perfect Location
This inn is fabulous. When I called to review room options and to book one room for 3 girls for a girls weekend, I was told that they would be happy to upgrade us to a suite if one was available when we checked in (and it was!). When I called on our way there to see if early check-in was possible, we were told that that would be no problem. When we arrived and asked if late check-out was possible, we were asked, “what time would work for you?”. The customer service here is wonderful! Our room had plenty of space, luxurious bedding, a hand written, personalized note welcoming us to the hotel, and a spacious and updated bathroom with a shower that I didn’t want to leave.
Robes and Bath & Body Works toiletries as well! All of this at an absolutely incredible price! I felt like I was staying in a really expensive hotel yet we paid no more than what we likely would have paid at any of the local chains.
It is located right in the middle of all of the shops and restaurants. We were able to park right outside of the hotel and didn’t need to use the car to go anywhere. I highly recommend The Jefferson Inn and will definitely be back!
My wife and I spent a very relaxing weekend at The Jefferson Inn. The staff, the rooms, and the service were impeccable. I would recommend this quaint inn to anyone looking to get away and enjoy a charming southern town with interesting restaurants, antiques, and friendly people.Stayed May 2015
My husband and I stayed at this hotel this past weekend. The hotel is so very charming and our room was oh so comfortable. The bed was extremely soft and comfortable and the sheets had the most wonderful clean scent. The room was bright and cheery with plenty of natural light and all of the amenities one might expect. The shower was huge with 2 waterfall heads. We will definitely stay there again!Stayed May 2015
I always love staying here! The bed is so comfy and the claw foot bathtub is fabulous! Everyone there is friendly and very helpful! We have our annual board of directors retreat there and as the administrator it is a relief to work with hotel staff that are so accommodating to our needs. Thank you to Curtis Dean and all staff at the Jefferson Inn!Stayed November 2014
